Pickipedia-mcp: no-change writes are not silently successful (31 Oct 2026)
re's draft fix for pickipedia-mcp, from the silent-write finding of 31 Oct (see #interfaces, 15:44-16:10Z). Apply on master with git am; magent said it would push it.

Subject: [PATCH] update-page: a no-change success is reported as a failure,
not as ok without a revision
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
A write whose text the wiki already holds comes back result 'Success' with no
newrevid (edit.nochange). The tool reported that as ok — page ID, title,
verification note, but no latestRevisionId — so an agent read its write as
landed when the wiki had saved nothing.
re hit this on 31 Oct: three writes to Cryptograss:Agents/Tasks (a replace,
the same replace, and a find-replace) each reported success while the page
never changed. The wiki answered nochange each time because the proposal
marking (markEditParams) restores the page's marked form for a line that
normalizes to one it already holds, so an edit whose only aim was to unwrap a
{{Bot_proposes}} marker is sent back as the marked stub and recorded as no
change. That restore-as-stored design question is magent's to settle; this
fix makes the outcome impossible to read as success.
The response is now a structured failure, category no_change (new; warning
level in telemetry, since the wiki declining to save what is already there is
ordinary behaviour), naming the revision the page still sits at, that no new
revision was created, and the two ways out: a person strips the marker, or
the removal is proposed where the namespace allows it.
Tests: the nochange:true shape and a Success missing newrevid both report
no_change; the suite is 2433 across 159 files.
