Listening list

Opens a curated listening list: who made it, when, in what medium, and for whom. The entries themselves are {{Listening list entry}} calls that follow it.

Usage

Parameters

• curator – the person whose taste this is. Linked, and recorded as Curated by.
• title – the list's name. Defaults to the page title.
• date – when it was given, YYYY-MM-DD. Recorded as Given on.
• medium – where it was said: a DM, a green room, a podcast, the back of a receipt.
• for – who it was given to, if it was given to somebody in particular.
• intro – editorial framing, in the wiki's voice rather than the curator's. Keep it short and factual. Don't explain the list, and above all don't explain a joke in its title.

A listening list is testimony

A normal article converges toward consensus and gets better as more people edit it. A listening list does not. Its whole value is that it is a faithful record of what one person said on one day, so the entries and their notes should be left alone even when a later editor disagrees about a record.

Cite the list itself with {{Src}}. Until the curator has an account and can assert it first-hand, testimony from whoever was in the conversation is the honest form:

and it upgrades to a first-party attestation later without restructuring anything.

On property names

Curated by and Given on, not Has curator and Has list date. The Has prefix is an RDF-ism that buys nothing here, and this wiki abandoned it long ago anyway — Release title, Pinned on, Asserted by, Cites url, IPFS CID and half the rest of the property list never used it.

Styling

In MediaWiki:Common.css, on the pp-ll- classes. Nothing here carries an inline style=.
