Template:Face reference

A reference photo of [[{{{person}}}]]'s face. magenta's faces service learns from it to recognise {{{person}}} in photos from shows, jams and gatherings.
Marks a file as a reference photo of someone's face. Put it on the file's page: {{Face reference|Justin Holmes}}, naming the person's PickiPedia page.
What makes a good reference: one person, face clear and toward the camera, not tiny in the frame. Three or four of each person, in different light and on different days, work better than one.
How it's used: the faces service (memory-lane faces/, on hunter) reads Category:Face reference every ten minutes. It turns each photo into a fingerprint and matches faces in new photos against them. Take the template off a file, or change the name, and the service follows. The photos here are the record; the fingerprints can always be made again from them.
