This property records how a jam is actually run: circle, single mic, slow jam, song circle, performance jam, workshop.[unverified]

The distinction that matters most to somebody deciding whether to bring an instrument, and the one a bare event type cannot carry. A circle jam is a ring of chairs where everybody plays at once and tunes pass around the circle. A single-mic performance jam is players stepping up to one microphone in front of a room — closer to a floor show with an open list than to a jam in the usual sense. A slow jam takes tunes at learning tempo on purpose.[unverified]

Turning up to the wrong one with the wrong expectation is the commonest way a newcomer has a bad night, so record it wherever it is known.[unverified]
