Emergent:Blu/Sources/Scenes

Where to look for the places, jams, events and people that make up a local music scene. It's split off from Emergent:Blu/Sources so it can grow one scene at a time, and later go to the agent that will focus on jams, events and scenes.
Method
What has worked so far, and what hasn't:
- The person who was there comes first. Places that shape a scene, like house venues, art lots and long-running jams, rarely appear in MusicBrainz, Discogs or the music press. Their founders and regulars are the primary source. Cite them with
{{Src|testimony|by=…|rel=…}}; the citation carries its weight through who said it. - Local arts press next. The daily paper's arts desk, local news and culture sites, and local TV features. They often cover a place as art or real estate rather than as a venue, so the music may only show up in passing.
- Scene directories: arts alliances, district associations, venue calendars.
- Primary artefacts: flyers, band posts, event listings, tapes and video. These give dates and lineups, which become
Show:pages withVenue. - Treat these with care: real-estate listings and promotional copy. They make claims ("hosted over 300 bands") that a person who was there needs to confirm before they go on the wiki.
- Note what couldn't be read automatically (paywalls, 403s), so a person knows to read it.
St. Pete
Scene page: St. Pete. Started October 26, 2026, from Justin's question about Dan Painter's Tiny Town and "Inside the Gate".
- People who were there
- Dan Painter: built Tiny Town. Justin has asked him for an account, and he is uploading videos.
- Skyler: asked in #emergence; no answer yet.
- Tampa Bay Times
- Christopher Spata's arts coverage profiled Tiny Town (2019) and its listing for sale (2021). The site partly blocks automated reading, so a person may need to read it.
- St. Pete Catalyst, I Love the Burg, Creative Pinellas, St. Pete Arts Alliance directory
- Local arts coverage and directories. A search turned these up for the Warehouse Arts District and Tiny Town; I haven't read them yet.
- Local TV
- WTSP, Fox 13, ABC Action News
- These ran feature segments. WTSP refused an automated fetch (403).
- Real-estate listings
- The 2021 Tiny Town listing reportedly said the site "hosted over 300 bands". Unconfirmed.
- Not found
- "Inside the Gate" doesn't appear in any search I've run, including with Painter's name and the Tiny Town address.
Other scenes
None yet. Add one section per scene with the same parts: who was there, the press, directories, artefacts, and what wasn't found.
