The Oracle of Bluegrass Bacon is an upcoming tool in arthel that can find connections between musicians who appear in common shows or records and find the number of "jumps" required to connect them.

For example, one route to connect Frank Carter Rische to Tony Rice is:

In this case, we'd say that Rische has a "Tony Rice Number" of 4, indicating the four links in the connection between them.

Show and Record Priority

[edit]

Shows and Records which are released with a Creative Commons-compatible license, or which are released directly into the Public Domain will appear above those that are only released with an unfriendly license.

Among links which are unavailable under an unfriendly license, those that are released in a DRM-free file format will be listed above those that are only released in an impaired format.

Data Sources

[edit]

The Oracle will accept signed data sources directly from musicians (such as the standard YAML setlists in arthel), and may also use APIs provided by resources such as open source Grateful Dead setlist bots, the Live Music Archive of archive.org, and structured data from PickiPedia which has been verified by known community members.
